Note to the reader.
This guide is different to the regular guide, in that it is a far more in-depth and concentrated guide, not allowing for certain choices found in a normal guide. It tells you what to do almost EXACTLY. Only for the path I choose, only for the baddies I mention, only for expert mode. This is not making anything easier, so you will need to keep practicing the guidelines I mention exactly to perfect it. Try practicing individual routines beforehand, until you can follow my guidelines almost second nature. If you think you're a bit special at this game already, I've given 'Scores to beat' on each level. If you, well, aren't as confident, then don't worry about the 'Scores to beat', they're there to add an extra challenge for people who are bored. We shall begin.

Level 1: Corneria
When you first start off, there will be a bad guy that swoops in low. Shoot a UM (unlocked missile) on water surface so as to kill him. Do the same for the group of three, one and two after that one (move slightly left to see clearly). Next, two will appear behind you. You should aim to kill both of them with a UM on water, but if not, just do it with the lower one and shoot the other one. Next will appear 5 baddies- three from left, two from right. Lock on middle one on left, and wait for them to group formation, then shoot LM (locked missile). When Slippy gets chased by baddie, wait on left. When hill appears, shoot UM (you need to practice this) with luck, it will kill the pursuer. When you reach land, baddies will swoop from behind in formation of 1,1,2,1. In the separate groups I mentioned, kill each with UM to the ground. Next, 4 baddies will appear (2 from each side) just lock on one of them, and wait for them to START closing in until you shoot LM. Go right of building. Shoot distant baddie, then shoot UM close to next baddie. One will appear next to a building. Wait for other baddie to swoop past , then shoot UM at building (ignore gold ring in gate). Shoot LM at three baddies on ground (try and time it so it can catch out passing baddie). Shoot UM at building next to floating baddie on right, then barrel roll left into gate. This makes 5 baddies pop out from behind building. Ignore swooping baddie on left of building, and destroy two low-down baddies on right. Lock on lower baddie in group of three, and shoot LM when all 5 overlap (again, time it so you catch out swooping baddie) Then there'll be a robot. Aim UM at building next to him. Then shoot baddie entering on left. Lock on three baddies on bridge, but pass under bridge, then shoot LM- this will act like an UM. Shoot swooping baddie, or try time a UM on building he passes. Aim UM at center of group of 3 baddies by building. Shoot UM at 4 baddies on bridge (aim at rim of it to get extra point. When two follow behind you, fly to support of bridge, then brake & shoot UM at support. Pass under bridge to make 4 baddies appear. Shoot UM at building with robot behind, then lock on 1 baddie. Wait until they pass, then shoot LM. Then, there will be a baddie in front of a gate. Ignore him and shoot UM at robot on left of screen (aim for ground close to him). When killed, aim UM at ground below floating baddie. Shoot open gate, then lock on 4 baddies on ground. Shoot LM, then aim UM at right hand side of newly toppled building on the right. This should catch the robot.
We are now at the 1/2 way point.
Ignore Falco and aim UM at building behind 3 baddies on left like last time, then shoot UM below baddie on right and fly through arch. Four baddies should appear. Shoot LM at them. Aim UM at building next to baddie. Shoot UM at building behind baddie on left, then pass through crack in building (you need to bank). 4 Baddies should appear.Shoot LM at them, then shoot UM below baddie on right. Shoot UM at 3 baddies on ground, then UM at 3 baddies on right. Boost here while NORMALLY shooting at center hovering baddie. Lock on FURTHEST LEFT baddies pursuing after Falco. When they pass the central pillar, shoot LM. This should get them. Pick power-up of choice. When coming to 6 baddies, aim UM at bridge-side in between cluster of 3. Repeat for other cluster, then pick off any if you missed. Dodge pillar thrown at you by robot, then shoot UM at ground next to robot. Repeat for other one. Shoot UM at hill behind middle baddie in next cluster of 3. At arch, shoot UM at water when thing passes. Somersault when passed through arch. Go through all arches, and shoot UM at water next to other 3 things. Falco should take you other direction to other boss. Before he does, shoot Ums at four birds in disatnce- try shooting near ground by them. Go through waterfall, then lock on nearest right bird. Wait until other bird passes him, then shoot LM at them both. When Falco's baddie appears, use a smart bomb. Try to get Falco's baddie. Quickly shoot Ums at ground next to little mounds before baddies pop up. When they appear, shoot them normally. Shoot middle baddie normally, then lock on group of 3 baddies on right. Shoot a LM just before they cross over to try and get most of them. If any survive, wait for them to float to you, then shoot UM at water to get them. Now you just have to get the boss. Before you kill boss, shoot Falco down. You'll see why later.

Level 2: Sector Y(Need 3+ Bombs, 2+ lives & Slippy alive))
When you start, you will see lots of robots in the background, but ignore them. Wait for the group of 3 baddies to fly in from the left, then shoot a LM at the leftmost one. Shoot both of the next two robots but DO NOT LOCK-ON EITHER OF THEM!!! When you kill the second one, aim at the top-right for the big group of baddies. Shoot a LM at it. Quickly shoot the robot that flies down the screen (very important), then pick off the remainder of the baddies from the group you shot a LM at before. If you destroyed the robot before, another one will appear now. You can use a LM on it, and collect the bomb it leaves. Lock on the next robot, but don't shoot it yet. Wait for it to float up. When the little 'C>' message blinks up, shoot the LM. With luck, it should get the passing missiles. Use a bomb to get the next two waves(if you have enough, use two bombs on all three waves, but you must keep 2 bombs). Wait for the surprise attack, then shoot 1 or 2 UM at the group. After that, bomb the rest and pick off any left over. When the baddies appear from the ship, shoot 2 Ums at each group (start with the right one, then get the left hand group. You may miss some from either group, but the main thing is that you shoot some UM at them.) When you come up to the ship, fly around to the right. Missiles will appear. Brake, and shoot a UM here. Time it correctly to get the extra 6 points. Pass UNDER the ship, and shoot the baddies under here. If you can, shoot some UM slightly below them to try and get some extra points. Now you will come up to some turrets and hatches. Shoot normally the hatches and turrets on the first two ships (brake & barrel roll to get the ship behind). When the three ships appear, aim a bomb near the bottom two ships to get the majority of the turrets and hatches, then shoot normally the others on the top ship and any on the middle ship that the bomb missed. When the baddies appear behind you, brake and shoot LM at the bottom pairs of two baddies, then shoot the top one. Next will come a load of missiles. Try to time a UM to take out at least 5 of them, then brake when passing over the ship and shoot a UM at the ship to get some more (if you have an extra bomb, just blow them all up.) Then aim a LM at the group of 4 baddies on top left just coming in, then a LM at the group at the middle left (aim for the furthest behind baddie to get the most points). Get the half-way point, then kill yourself (to get extra bombs) to re-appear at HWP (half-way point) Aim UM at ships next to two turrets directly in front of you, then lock on TOP robot, and stay on top of screen (to assure no accidental route-changing) When they start to pass over, shoot LM to get them both. When groups-of-3 baddies appear, aim LM at first group (on left) then use a bomb to get group 2, 3 &4. Use another bomb to get rest of groups. Aim LM at group of 3 baddies Slippy uncovers, then again with the next group of 3. Boost ahead a couple of times, then wait for Slippy to get big group uncovered. Aim LM at one of the left baddies, then, with precise timing, use a LM at one of the middle baddies, getting most of them. Ignore the survivors. Shoot UM below turrets at ship to get extra points on bottom right ship (you will have missed the left ship) and central 2 ships. Next, another robot will appear from the bottom. Kill him with a LM if you want. When the 2 ships part, aim LM at top left group of 3 baddies that appear from behind you. Do the same with other three groups, but you won't have enough time to lock on last group, just shoot it at the same direction. Shoot 2 turrets on right, the somersault (this will keep you higher than the scroll, giving you lots of space to react in). Shoot lower 2 baddies on right, then use LM on group of 3 baddies in middle past center ship. Quickly destroy the farthest left turret on left ship with a UM (NOT the ship just visible down below). Ignore your wingmen and the turrets, and wait for the three groups of 3 baddies to appear. Shoot LM at each group. This will lead you to the right with their change of direction. Destroy the turret on the right. You will then see a little group below in the distance. Shoot a LM, then somersault. This will give you time to get any left over from that shot. Shoot lots of UMs at the ship near the groups of baddies, first on the left/center, then on the right. Ignore any power-ups there are to collect. Now you just have to kill the three bosses. Make sure no-one destroys the first 2 bosses).

Score to beat: 285

Level 3: Aquas
(NOTE: This is the very hardest level to get extra points on, as it is much harder to shoot an unlocked torpedo on this level. Some of the advice here depends partially on luck as well as skill, so this is mostly general advice rather than purely detailed advice.) You will start off floating towards a starfish hidden behind some coral. Shoot a UM (in this level, a homing torpedo) above him, and it should get you an extra point. This will not kill him, so destroy him afterwards. The fish may seem initially annoying, but act as a rather handy barrier, so if the starfish was to come close, shooting a UM at the fish will hit the starfish, acting just like a normal UM. Aim a LM on the two squid passing by, then aim a UM at the ground next to the clam. If it locks on, just float by it, making the clam go off the screen and getting your target back. Aim a UM at the ground now, and it should destroy the clam. Shoot the other starfish (if it passes over the clam, aim a LM at the clam and shoot it to get an extra point on the starfish). Destroy the other clam with a UM at the side, and float under the arch, get the next 2 squid with a LM, and the clam as well (sometimes the fish get in the way again, to your benefit like last time). Use a LM on the next 2 squid, then shoot a UM at the arch above the clam. This should get you an extra point from the clam. Get the power-up, then destroy the spiral squid quickly. As you pass the rock, shoot a UM close to the cone-shell things (I'll call them cones for the time being) It won't kill them all (usually) so just destroy the others. A starfish will appear from behind the rock on the right, so kill him quickly. Then shoot a UM at the left-hand rock near the advancing starfish to hopefully get an extra point. Kill the other starfish. Don't bother passing under the arch. Destroy the eel that appears from the left, then lock onto the little mantis thing (mantis for now). Shoot a LM at him, and it should destroy the nearby clam. Destroy this mantis, then aim a UM at the little rock the right-hand clam is on, killing it. Destroy the next mantis, and shoot a UM above the starfish in the distance. Shoot another UM at the rock the left-hand clam is on. Kill the other starfish, the eel coming from the right-hand side, and aim another UM at the rock below the clam again (if any of these lock onto the clam itself, just float up close to the rock, facing down, then shoot the torpedo. With any luck, it should hit the ground) You can rest for a while and watch the lights, but then when you see some more cones on the ground, shoot another UM to kill 1 or 2 of them. Destroy the two pillars on either side, then float to the bottom of the ocean. Aim down and keep shooting UMs until all the cones are destroyed. Now you have to destroy the horseshoe crabs (crabs for now). There is no way to destroy these with UM so don't bother trying. Just kill these the old fashioned way. Destroy the two destructable pillars, and then the next one in the distant. Kill the angler fish (fish for now) quickly, and aim a UM near the 3 cones. Destroy the 2 pillars on the right, then shoot a LM at the group of 4 squid- aim for the middle two. Destroy the 4 crabs on the ground. Next bit is pretty hard. Shoot the 2 squid on the right with LM, then the 3 on the left with a LM. Next, lock on a squid from either edge of the screen, but wait for it to cross over with another one before hitting it with a LM. Repeat with the next pair. Then, very quickly, kill the spiral squid, then use a LM on the pair behind him when they cross over. Go into the half-way point.
A fish will appear from the left, just kill it, as well as the 4 crabs on the floor. Use a UM on the clam, and pick up the power-up. Lock on the right squid, but wait for it to cross over. Watch out for the fish that comes behind you. Avoid it then kill it. Destroy the massive group of crabs on the floor as quickly as possible. Shoot some UMs at the little mound in the tunnel a couple of times to destroy them. If some are reaching you, aim down and shoot some UMs. Now it gets really hard. You have to use lots of UM to destroy the starfish (aim around them) but the limited room and jellyfish restricts your capabilities. There is a clam hidden behind a coral at the start of the tunnel, so just shoot a missile at the coral to get an easy point. When a rock falls down, you are near the end of the tunnel.Destroy the rocks and the leftovers wit UMs to get extra points (usually from any nearby starfish) When the avalanche arrives, just keep your nose down the whole time to destroy all of the rocks with UMs. This will also get points off the 2 starfish. When you've finished that bit, there will be a crab, a clam and a fish. Destroy the fish first, then get a lock-on ON THE CRAB. Shoot a LM at the crab and it will also destroy the clam. Pass under the right-hand arch to make three cones appear near a clam at the distance. Shoot normally the coral, then lock on the clam, brake, aim your nose high and shoot a LM to kill the cones (if they don't die, they will later). Destroy the left clam with a UM at the mound, and destroy the crab. (if there WERE some cones alive, just kill the crab with LM to kill the cone/s). Finally, destroy the left clam with a UM on it's right-hand side. Now you should just kill the boss.

Level 4: Zoness (need 2+ bombs)
A very quick-to-react level. As soon as you start, a shrimp will jump out of the water on the right. Shoot a UM at the water near it. Then 4 will appear in this order;1 right, 2 left, 1 right. Destroy the 2 right ones with UM on the water, and shoot normally the two left ones. Two birds will fly from right to left behind the rocks, which you should shoot, then launch a bomb at the water under the big group. Ignore the three 'in-line birds' that flutter around for now, and destroy the flower-thing (flower) with a LM. A load of birds will appear from the left, so shoot them, but use UM on the rocks below to get the lower ones. Destroy the next two flowers, then shoot a bomb at the ground near the middle after the second flower to get all of the baddies. Then a crate will be hung from a pole in the dead center. Aim a UM at the pole to destroy the crate. Then there will be a spider on the right. Destroy it with a LM (they can only be killed with these & bombs) then shoot a Um up ahead at the water to get some of the shrimp. Destroy the rest with normal shooting. Then you will see a search light. You MUST destroy every one of these! Aim a UM at the side of it on the water to get an extra point for it. There will be another three, so destroy these as well. After the second one, if the three birds haven't been killed already, just use a LM on them to kill the whole lot. When you come to the rig, fly to the left for a while, and wait for the spider. Shoot it with a LM, then barrel roll under the rig. Go to the left one, use a UM on the light, and pass under the rig. Go to the right one, aim a UM at the water near the light and shoot. Destroy the spider. Pass under the final rig for a bomb. You need this bomb to kill the two shrimp, the 3 birds following Slippy and the one following you. Then 2 shrimp will jump out and cross over. Shoot a UM at the water underneath them to get extra points. This is the order that the shrimp jump in from now until after the collum of power-ups; 2,1,2,1,2,2. Desstroy every one with a UM to the water. Ignore the power ups, then aim high to get the three birds. Lock on and shoot a LM at them. Now Katt will appear. Boost forward slightly to get ahead of her. She destroy the two left lights, so destroy those before she does to get the points. You must also destroy the two on the right with UM near to them. Then another 8 lights will follow. Destroy every one with a UM near to them. They appear in the simple pattern of; left, middle, right, left, middle, right,left, middle. Oh, and ignore the stupid bird here, as he doesn't get you a single point. After the serpent jumps out, 2 shrimp will cross to the left, use a Um below them, then three will jump to you in the middle. Kill these with normal shots. Two shrimps will cross with the serpent. Use a UM on the water below them. Then another light. Use a UM to the side. Three shrimp will jump out here, two right, one left. Aim a UM below the 2 right ones. Then 2 more lights will appear. Use a UM beside them, aiming a UM at the serpent's neck to get the second one. Destroy the left light with a UM (I think you get the point now, just use UM on ALL of the lights unless stated otherwise) Destroy the baddies following Katt. She will destroy the next 3 lights (you can't prevent this), and destroy the last light. Pass through the half-way point. Destroy the light (aim at the rock beside it) ignore the bird and periscope, and follow Peppy into the gateway. Destroy the following 2 lights (aim at the serpent with the frst one. If it didn't work, just do it normally). A shrimp will jump to the right here, just use a UM on the water below it. Lift the right gate and destroy the light (aim at the gate itself, above the light). 2 more shrimp will cross on the left. Use a UM on the water. Destroy the light. Open the gateway, then use a UM on the pole to destroy the crate. Then an enemy tanker will appear. Aim a UM at the side of the tanker to destroy the crates. Use a LM on the 3 baddies coming from the right. As soon as you pass over the tanker, somersault, so the enemy that appears behind you will be in front. Shoot a UM at the side of the next tanker (be quick before the crate swivels around) then kill the baddie. Shoot a LM on the 3 baddies coming in from the left. Use a LM on the tanker coming in from the left. Do the same with the one on the right. Then shoot a LM at the 2 birds coming forward on the right. Shoot a UM at the hull of the side-on ship to destroy the crates. Next, a wave of 3 baddies will swoop in from the left. Aim at the middle baddie and shoot a LM. Ignore Slippy again and fly high left. As soon as you see the dock with resting baddies, shoot a couple of UM, then bomb it. Barrel roll right to destroy the crate, then use a LM on the group of 5 baddies ahead. Destroy the 4 crates behind them, then roll left. Shoot a UM at the resting baddies, and lock-on the 5 rising baddies. Shoot them with a LM. Use a UM on the ship to get the crates, and again on the rig to get the other crate. Use a LM on the 4 baddies in the top left. When you see 2 little baddies floating in front, shoot a bomb to the ground to get the little speedboats behind you as well. Do this 3 times. Then use UMs to destroy the 3 crates on the left (one seems to have a baddie behind it, but I can never find it). Brake here and wait for Falco to fly on. Lock on and destroy the baddie following him. Next, use LM on the group of three speedboats that appear on the right. Then again on the left. Use a UM on the water near the crate. When coming to the final lights, two shrimp will briefly appear. Use UM on them. Falco will destroy 2 of the lights, so destroy the middle 2. After the load of barrels (you can't get points from them) You have to fight the boss. Make sure you leave the battle with as many smart bombs as possible.
Score to beat: 227

Level 5: Macbeth (need 3+ bombs, 2+lives, Falco alive)
Let the cinema sequence roll out (it places you further back). Roll left to destroy the supplies on the back of the train, then the carriage. Then destroy the turret and it's carriage. Roll back into the middle. Wait for baddies to appear in the air in the distance. Lock on and destroy with LM. Destroy the remaining ones as well with LM (this should also take out the gun turret (gun for now) which gets extra points). When you reach distance, aim a UM at around the middle of the pillar the gun is on on the right. Do the same with the left. LEAVE THE ROCK CARRIAGES ALONE! As soon as you see it tilt, shoot a UM at it. With luck, you should just clip all of the rocks in a big group from that carriage. Then destroy as many of the rocks as you can, with UM or, if any ae on their own, normal shooting. Hit the 2 guns in the middle of the pillar with UMs. Shoot a UM at the mound to the left of the little gun carriage to get extra points. Then destroy a few of the baddies circling up above (NOT with smart bombs). Boost ahead and use UMs to the side of the little gun carriage that comes from the left (you may need to practice this a bit) then the one on the right with a UM. Be quick before Katt destroys it. Then another little carriage appears. Use a UM to the left of it. Destroy any remaining baddies in the air. When 3 baddies fly in from far away, lock onto them. Wait for the other 2 to arrive before using a LM on them. Next, a group of 5 baddies will fly from behind you. Ignore them, and shoot normally the boulders that roll your way. If you want, you can use some UMs, but it's generally not worth the bother. The 5 baddies you ignored will then turn and fly for you- shoot a UM below them to take them all out. Next, a row of 4 boulders will roll at you. Shoot 2 UMs in the middle of them to destroy them. Now you can try to destroy the carriages. When you come to the drop, destroy the 2 groups of 3 baddies with LMs, then carry on destroying the carriages. If you fall below before destroying them all, use a bomb or two to destroy them. Leave the two gun turrets on the train. They will dislodge more boulders for you to destroy. Aim at the side wall with UMs to destroy the rocks. When the swirling baddies appear from the distance, lock on 1 of the last ones and shoot a LM when they head to you. Destroy the other boulders, then the remaining ships. Pick up the bomb they leave behind. Destroy the near turret with the bomb. When Falco flies by, shoot a UM at the underside of the bridge to destroy the baddie following him. Again., leave the train alone for the next bit. Destroy the rocks with UMs (preferrably, aim for the wall). When there aren't any more rocks, shoot a bomb at the rear carriage to blow up the turret. Float up to destroy the remaining carriage, if any. In the tunnel, destroy as much of the train as possible BEFORE THE HALF-WAY POINT, including the carriages. When you pass the half-way point, kill yourself. Those bits of the train you destroyed before the half-way mark now re-appear. Destroy these bits and the remaining parts of the train. When you come to the first switch, wait for the baddie to fly near it, then hit it with a UM. Ht the switch again with a UM when the next 2 appear- this will hopefully destroy the left one. Hit the next switch with a UM to kill the other baddie. Go to the next switch on the left and hit the baddie with a LM- being behind the switch, it will act like a UM. Finally, kill the boss by flicking the other switches and changing the train tracks to get the extra 50 points from the boss.
Score to beat: 242

Level 6: Area 6 (need 3+ bombs and everyone alive)
The bloody hardest level by far for sheer aching hands. When you start, go to the left. A big group of enemies appear. Shoot these with a LM, and destroy the rest with normal shot. Pick up the power-up, and destroy the spinning top thing (station for now). In the minefield, shoot 2 bombs only. Go right, and aim for the top baddie in the group of 3. Shoot a LM. Fly down and wait for the group of 4 baddies to appear. Destroy them with LM. Destroy the station. Lock-on and shoot a LM at the group of 4 baddies persuing Falco. Destroy the next 2 stations, then destroy the 4 baddies with a LM. Wait for another group to appear from the bottom left. Shoot a LM at them, and destroy the rest with normal shots. Destroy the station (it won't take much)and destroy the next one. Aim and shoot a LM at the next group of baddies that appear from the right. Destroy the left station, then get rid of the rest of the baddies. Pick up the power-up, then destroy the next 2 stations. Aim a LM at the middle baddie in the group of 5. Destroy the next 3 stations (ignore Falco chasing the baddie). When you come to the 2 ships, don't respond to ROB. Destroy the first ship, then aim a UM at the missiles coming at you. Do the same with the other ship. The next ship has missiles more spread out. Shoot a UM quick, before any of the missiles explode, then destroy the ship. When you come to the big missiles, switch to cockpit mode and destroy all 5. You should keep braking as well. After a break, Peppy will be chased by missiles. Destroy as many of these as possible, then shoot the 2 stations. When you see the little spinning baddies, shoot a bomb at them, then destroy the next 2 stations. Then shoot another bomb at the spinning baddies. Then destroy another station (you can't destroy both of them). Destroy the next station, and a butterfly will appear. Ignore it for the moment, and destroy the left station. Kill this butterfly, and the other4 stations (they appear in a ring counter-clockwise from the left) If any butterflies are still around, kill them now. Go into the half-way mark. From this point, destroy the group of 4 baddies that come from the right, then the group from the left. Lock onto the group of 3 baddies from the right, and wait for them to reach the other 3 baddies, then shoot a LM. Shoot UM and normally at the array of baddies that appear now, then lock onto the group that appears from the left with 6 baddies. Shoot a LM, then destroy the station. Aim at the forming group of 5 baddies, and shoot a LM (it takes 2 LMs to destroy the group). Destroy the left station, then the right station. Shoot a LM at the first group of 3 baddies, and again at the next group. Then a group of 5 baddies will appear. Shoot a LM at them, and pick off the survivors. Get the smart bomb, and shoot it at the ship on the left. Destroy the ship (by shooting at the bat-shaped control center of it), and shoot a UM at the right ship. Destroy the middle ship, then shoot 2 UMs at the guns on the left ship. Destroy the ship. Reply to ROB's message. He'll destroy the next ship. Shoot a UM at the ship to get the guns. Destroy the right ship, and shoot 2 UMs at it. Destroy the left ship. Aim a LM at the group of 5 baddies to release a smart bomb. There will be a wave of 9 baddies from the right. Shoot 1-2 LMs at them, then shoot the bomb at the ship. Destroy the ship, and the next one. Shoot the baddie following Slippy so he doesn't accidentaly shoot any baddies. Shoot 2 UMs at the next ship's guns, then destroy the ship. It will release 5 miore missiles, which should be destroyed with UMs.Respond to ROB. The next 6 baddies can be shot with LMs. Pick up ROB's power-up, then shoot another UM at the guns on the next ship. Shoot a UM at the group of 5 missiles, and shoot normally the baddies flying off the next ship. Shoot a UM at the guns on the ship, and destroy the ship. Repeat for the next ship, only use 2 UMs on the guns. PHEW! You must kill the Gorgon as quickly as possible, else his point counter will drop to HIT+5.
